We're looking to bring on a Senior PHP Developer who writes clean, maintainable code and is obsessed with performance. You'll actively improve our codebase through thoughtful code reviews, architectural decisions, and optimisation.

What you will do

Code Quality & Architecture

• Write Modern PHP: Write modern PHP (8.3+) with strict types, typed properties, readonly classes, and PSR standards.
• Code Reviews: Review pull requests; catch bugs, enforce standards, and suggest better patterns.
• Architectural Decisions: Identify opportunities to improve code quality, architecture, and performance across the codebase.

Performance & Optimisation

• Database Optimisation: Optimise PostgreSQL queries, indexes, and migrations for speed and efficiency.
• API Performance: Build and maintain high-performance APIs with a focus on response times and throughput.
• Background Jobs: Develop and optimise background jobs and database-driven features for reliability and speed.

About you

Professional Experience

• 5+ years of professional PHP experience: You have deep experience writing production PHP code.
• Strong OOP & Design Patterns: You have a strong grasp of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and clean architecture.
• PostgreSQL Expertise: Comfortable with PostgreSQL query optimisation and migrations.
• Git & CI/CD: Experience with Git workflows, CI/CD, and deployment processes.
• Attention to Detail: You care about edge cases, security, and performance.
• Fluent level English: Able to communicate easily both verbally and in text with your colleagues.
• Timezone: You’re based in the GMT/CET/CEST timezone.
